Cardstock for the Presentation of Your Lapel Pins

February 3rd, 2012

Want a nice way to present your lapel pins instead of the usual plastic poly bag? How about custom cardstock?  Cardstock is a unique and memorable way to get your message across to your recipient.

Imagine the surprised look on your employees’ faces when they see that they’ve actually been given two gifts instead of one.  Your recognition award program will be a complete success once you’ve decided to hand out custom lapel pins attached to cardstock as an incentive for perfect attendance, years of service or superior sales.

The cardstock you choose for presenting your custom lapel pins can be as simple as a 1-sided black and white design with a few words of encouragement to a double sided, full color design and text. The possibilities are endless.  You can include a quote, company slogan, motto or mission statement on your custom cardstock.  You can even include the poem of your choice if it is something that you feel will inspire your employees.

Cardstock is a great way to present pins at special events and awards ceremonies.  It also gives fundraiser lapel pins their professional appearance.  Sold in stores and sporting arenas, these tokens of appreciation raise funds which help others achieve everything they set out to do within their business, organization or non-profit.

Visit our presentation page located at http://www.lapelpinsrus.com/presentation.html/ for more ideas for displaying the custom lapel pins you have ordered for your employees.  You can mention your interest in cardstock when you email or call to speak to a Lapel Pins R Us representative.  Send inquiries and ideas to info@lapelpinsrus.com or direct them to 1-800-480-6822.  The number is toll-free and a helpful sales representative will be able to answer any questions you might have.

What’s the Hype Behind Groundhog’s Day?

February 2nd, 2012

Groundhog Day is celebrated on February 2.  It is customarily recognized in the United States and Canada as a holiday.  Folklore states that if it is cloudy when a groundhog comes out of its burrow on this day, then spring will come early that year. If it is sunny, the groundhog will see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow.  This means that the winter weather will continue for six more weeks.

The largest Groundhog Day celebration is held in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.  Depicted in the 1993 film Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell, the city of Punxsutawney and Punxsutawney Phil is now known around the world.  If you want to see live footage of the annual ceremony, you can visit http://www.groundhog.org/.

According to Buzzle.com, there are a lot of interesting facts about groundhogs.  Here are a few things for you to ponder:

  • Groundhogs are also known as whistle pigs.
  • Groundhogs have four toes on their feet and five on the back.
  • Groundhogs can grow to a maximum of two feet when measured from head to toe.
  • Groundhogs can weigh as little as five pounds and can be as big as fourteen pounds.
  • Groundhogs have grayish brown fur and tails that are bushy.
  • Groundhogs usually have two layers of fur so that the outside layer serves as a waterproof layer and the inside layer maintains body heat.
  • Groundhogs have an amazing sense of hearing as well as very sharp eyesight.
  • Groundhogs have a lifespan of two to three years.
  • Groundhogs can survive up to six years in the forests and up to ten years in captivity.

Groundhogs are fascinating creatures.  On behalf of Lapel Pins R Us, we want to wish you a safe and memorable Groundhog’s Day.  Like everyone else, we’d love to see Spring arrive early this year!

Inside the Designer’s Mind by Sakia, An Artist at Lapel Pins R Us

February 1st, 2012

At Lapel Pins R Us, we have highly skilled artists that work on making customized pins just for you!   One principle our artists keep in mind when creating artwork for you is the basic rules of design: Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, and Proximity.

CONTRAST

Contrast simply means difference. It is what you notice, and what gives design its energy.

REPETITION

The principle of repetition simply means reusing the same or similar elements.  It brings a sense of unity, consistency, and cohesiveness to the design.

ALIGNMENT

Alignment deals with the placement of elements. Its objective is for every element to be connected visually and not randomly scattered.  This helps make the design visually attractive and professional looking.

PROXIMITY

Last of all, proximity is about moving things closer or farther apart to achieve a more organized look. Simply, it is grouping similar items together for visual impact and organization.  Spatially, it is important to pay attention to proximity when creating artwork for a lapel pin design.

When putting together a complex design, artists like Sakia abide by these rules.  This helps her achieve everything she sets out to do creatively when given a lapel pin idea or concept to design.  If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be inside the mind of a designer, this blog will be of interest to you.

Creating attractive artwork featuring your idea or concept is our specialty.  See what Sakia and the rest of the Lapel Pins R Us graphic design team can do for you.  Visit http://www.lapelpinsrus.com today.  You can also direct your questions and inquiries to our email at info@lapelpinsrus.com or call 1-800-480-6822 toll-free.

Custom Lanyards Are a Great Way to Show Support for Your Local Team

January 31st, 2012

Custom lanyards are functional and attractive.  They are a great way to show support for your local sports team and they can even have a badge holder attachment connected to them for student IDs and other forms of identification.  This is one way to keep track of attendance at games and tournaments where students are admitted for free.

There are a number of different ways to make lanyards stand out.  First of all, you can use the colors of your favorite team.  This helps others recognize which school or university you are rooting for.  Next, you can add a logo or a slogan and pass them out at pep rallies and games as a way of gaining the public’s support.

Custom lanyards are easy to transport and you can pin trading pins to them and use them to meet and greet other players or spectators.  This is a great way to break the ice and get others to take notice of your team and talent.  Because they are custom made, they will get attention wherever they go.

There are a number of different styles of lanyards and attachments available.  You can choose the one that appeals the most to you. For example, here is what we have to offer in regards to attachments:

  • J-Hook

What is a Full Color Digital Proof and How Is It Used for My Order?

January 30th, 2012

What does the full color digital proof mean and how is it used for my order?  It’s really simple.  It is what we send to you once your lapel pin’s artwork has been designed.  It gives you a better idea of what the final product will look like so you can make adjustments and revisions as you see fit.

In the center you will see an enlarged view so you may see the details of the design clearer.  This will allow you to double check the font, spelling, and accuracy of the information being put on your custom lapel pins.  The last thing that you want to do is have a mistake printed on your personalized products.

On the upper left hand size you will see a sized version so you can view your design will look like when it is produced.  This will allow you to know how others will see your design.  A feature like this ensures that your pins are every bit as attractive as you want them to be.

On the lower left hand you will see a list of the colors that were used to create this design.  This allows you to double check your order and make sure that each shade is represented accurately.  A slight alteration in color can significantly change the appearance of your pins.  That’s why you’ll want to double check this area to make sure that they are the colors that you chose.  Not all computer monitors show the color the same due to their calibration. For accuracy refer to a color matching chart.

A full color digital proof eliminates confusion by presenting your custom lapel pin idea in a visually attractive format.  This gives you what you need to view your pins and determine what changes need to take place before submitting your design to the production department for manufacturing.  Any questions you might have can be directed to info@lapelpinsrus.com.  You can learn more about the ordering process by visiting http://www.lapelpinsrus.com or calling 1-800-480-6822 toll-free.
